Seamless integration of the essentialsThere when you need it, gone when you don't. The tow bar on the cleverly designed LandCruiser 200 series is integrated into the rear bumper, including a colour-coded cover which conceals it when not in use. When it does come out to play, however, you'll still be able to enjoy LandCruiser's legendary pulling power-up to 3,500kg for a braked trailer and 750kg un-braked. Reinventing the wheelOf course, without the wheel, none of LandCruiser's significant achievements would have been possible. And to help you make some significant achievements of your own, the LandCruiser 200 series comes with ruggedly designed 17 inch alloy wheels, fitted with 285/65 R17 Dunlop tyres for the GXL and 18 inch alloy wheels, fitted with 285/60 R18 Dunlop tyres for the VX and Sahara. Even more bright thinkingThe large combination headlamps on the LandCruiser 200 function to the highest degree suggested by their bold design. The Sahara model boasts 4-zone climate control air conditioning, so that driver, passenger and second row occupants can fine-tune their immediate environment quickly and efficiently. There are up to 28 outlet vents, providing total control of comfort levels throughout the vehicle, with superb air quality assured through pollen filtration fitted as standard. Hear, hearIf 9-speaker AM/FM audio, 6 CD/DVD changer and integrated Electro Multi Vision Navigation (EMV-N) sound appealing, read on. A cool convenienceChances are, as the owner of a LandCruiser 200, from time to time you'll find yourself a long way off the beaten track. The good news is that you don't have to go out of your way to find a shop or dig around in an Esky to enjoy a cool refresher. Integrated into the centre console of the Sahara model is a large cool box, ideal for drinks, snacks or anything else which helps take the heat out of a day, on or off the road. The inside story on versatilityWhether it's two of you, four of you, or seven of you, the LandCruiser 200 is invincible when it comes to seating and storage versatility. With up to 8-seat capacity across three rows, you, like the LandCruiser itself, will be able to adapt to any situation. Second row seats have a 60:40 split on the GXL and a 40:20:40 split on the VX and Sahara, with simple-to-use one-touch tumble mechanism. Third row split is 50:50 on all vehicles, and offers more storage space than the previous model when folded away. Front and second row seats have plenty of adjustability, assuring everybody has all the legroom they could ever need. A smarter way to driveThe luxurious styling of the LandCruiser 200's interior is evident to the eye in every detail. Not so evident are the touches of luxury that can only be experienced through use. Passive safety in the bagThe LandCruiser 200 is more serious about passive safety than ever before, with up to 10 airbags (VX & Sahara) strategically positioned to protect you and your passengers in the event of an accident. Standard driver and passenger front airbags have dual-stage deployment based on collision speed. Also standard are side airbags and full-length curtain shield airbags, which also deploy to third row seat occupants. In addition, second row side airbags and driver and passenger knee airbags are available on VX & Sahara. No other comparable vehicle has taken such an initiative in passive safety, in fact it's a level of safety that even many luxury vehicles in the Australian market can't match. Impact protection on your sideTo make sure the LandCruiser 200 sets the highest of standards in safety on and off the road, we've built into it plenty of features we hope you never have to rely on. In creating the stronger, lighter frame structure, we've included improved frame and underbody reinforcements to help absorb side impact and lessen damage both inside and out. ABS that enjoys the terrain as much as you doLandCruiser 200 comes with our multi-terrain anti-lock braking system (ABS) for even greater control, safety and confidence in difficult braking situations. The control logic senses when the vehicle changes driving conditions and alters ABS performance to suit, adjusting brake pressure to each tyre depending on its relationship to the road surface. Be it bitumen, dirt, ice, mud or sand, multi-terrain ABS lives up to its name by giving you controlled deceleration no matter where your next journey takes you. LC200 also incorporates Brake Assist (BA) which supplements your braking effort in an emergency, so your brakes are applied with optimum force and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) which intelligently distributes brake-force between the front and rear and the left and right wheels. EBD adjusts dynamically for straight-line driving and cornering, which is critical when negotiating rough terrain. | MechanicalMassive Power, Massive Torque, Less FuelThe LC200 more than adequately delivers power befitting its 'King Off The Road' title. The 4.5L V8 Twin Turbo Diesel engine gives you 195kW of power to play with, along with 650Nm of torque. Not to be out-done, the 4.7L V8 DOHC VVT-i Petrol grade delivers a mighty 202kW and 410Nm. Obviously, with power comes responsibility, and the LC200 takes its obligations very seriously. Both engines were designed with excellent fuel efficiency in mind. The diesel consumes a mere 10.3L / 100km* and the petrol just 14.5L / 100km*, and both meet strict Euro IV emission standards. (* ADR81/02 combined cycle. A more intelligent rideThe LandCruiser 200 interacts with the road-or whatever you happen to be driving across-like no other vehicle on Earth. Standard on selected LandCruiser 200 models the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS#) delivers the highest possible performance through even greater stability and control during both off-road and on-road driving. KDSS# optimally adjusts front and rear stabilizers resistance based on movement of the hydraulic cylinders, assuring safe driving and a high level of comfort without the need for an additional power source. Developed right here in Australia for Australian conditions, KDSS# sets the benchmark in suspension control technology. (#KDSS is an optional extra on GXL Turbo Diesel and standard on all other grades. ) Full-Time 4WDThe 4WD system in the LandCruiser 200 gives it full-time invincibility, under almost any driving conditions. Using an efficient motor switching method, it makes changing between low and high ratios a simple matter of turning a dial on your dash--and locking the centre differential for that extra bit of driving force is just as easy. A torque sensing LSD (Torsen® LSD) in the centre differential provides optimum torque distribution between front and rear wheels, providing better traction and control during acceleration and turning, and, just as importantly, increasing your enjoyment of the drive. A world first with CRAWLCRAWL is the 4WD control system making its world debut in the LandCruiser 200. The ultimate in intelligent control, CRAWL operates like an off-road cruise control, automatically maintaining a low uniform vehicle speed to enable stable driving. This allows you to concentrate solely on steering because accelerator and brake operations occur automatically from the CRAWL control. CRAWL has been developed based on the pedal operations of veteran off-road driving experts, and, as a result, the control achieved impresses even the master test drivers who have participated in development. |
